Welcome to Move Elmwood Forward

Vote for Elmwood's Future

Good Government and Responsible Planning for Our Community

For too long, Elmwood township was governed by insiders, for insiders.

Four years ago a group of Elmwood residents who believe that government can do good were elected to the township government.

With Derith hard at work, much was accomplished:
  • She promoted open government by bring in equipments to broadcast township meetings at no cost to us
  • Deri created the new Parks and Recreation Committee and moved along the shoreline park master plan
  • Acquired grants that made possible the De Young Farm Preservation
  • Added dedicated staff to the fire department EMT response team
  • Rescued a previously expanded but poorly funded sewer district
  • Set a fair standard fee structure for the marina users against all odds
  • Reduced legal expenses from prior to 2004 by insisting the board abide by the laws

  • All this was accomplished in spite of constant obstruction put forth by other board members who put personal politics ahead of the public trust.

Now we have a chance to elect a full seven board members that will work hard for our community’s future.

The time has come and your vote will decide what kind of community we will have – working together on planning or every man/woman for themselves?

We are fortunate to have these outspoken and outstanding candidates that will work hard for our community.
Incumbent Supervisor Deri Smith has demonstrated outstanding dedication and professionalism.
Incumbent Trustee Paul Walter has been a pillar of strength and commitment.
Three new excellent trustee candidates for this critical time of Elmwood's future: Erik Saxon, Nancy Doughty and Dave Darga.
As Township Clerk Diane Hubert will provide timely accurate information and improve communication to the township residents.
As Township Treasurer, Wendy Barker will bring control of taxes back to the township, make convenient online payment services available, and reduce costs by making the treasure a part-time position.
Join us in supporting these outstanding candidates.

Cast your vote in the August 5th Republican Primary.
